1.0 out of 5 stars "Insulated" should mean just that, March 26, 2011

The Koko lunch bag is advertised as an "insulated" lunch bag...and it is. Sort of. Except it's not...completely. Yes, the bottom and four sides have a thin, metallic quilted liner, but the top is a thin nylon that drawstrings close and provides absolutely no, I repeat, no, insulation. So, can a bag that insulates five surfaces, yet leaves the top uninsulated, really be considered an insulated bag?

This bag certainly is a fashionable as others have indicated, but would it have been much less so if the drawstring top had been replaced with an insulated flap that could either zipper or velcro close? I don't think that modification would have negated the Koko's fashion sense completely, but it sure would have improved its functionality.

As it is, I'm making do with this bag...I'm freezing a water bottle AND using Fit n Fresh cool coolers ice packs (the square ones). I put these ice packs on top of my sandwich, so the sandwich is between the insulated bottom and... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars LOVE it!, December 17, 2011

Looks beautiful, and works well. Not for keeping foods frozen, but will do a slow thaw of frozen items. Keeps cold items cold and warm ones warm. Finally I enjoy packing my lunch for work!

I got this lunch bag last week, and everyone that's seen it has fallen in love with it. I like it too--it's well made, keeps my food cold, is very stylish and I "feel cute" carrying it (as opposed to the ugly utilitarian ones that you can get at Walmart, etc.).

Now, having gone over the asthetics, I'm only giving this 4 stars instead of 5 because I carry water, a.m. snack, lunch, and p.m. snack... and it's a tight squeeze. A couple more inches all around would have been awesome. Stuff fits, but you have to be creative with placement and organization. Also, the magnetic closure is not as strong as I would like, so in order to close it you have to focus instead of it just snapping shut easily. Minor nitpicks. The drawstring top helps for those times that you have more stuff than room, as you can kind of stack food items.

All that said, I would buy it again. I haven't found anything bigger that doesn't just look stupid or garner those "wow, you leaving for a trip??"... Read more
