I read reviews saying it was small, but I eat relatively light and thought it shouldn't be an issue (I'm not bringing a four course dinner or anything!) I was wrong however, I could barely fit a small salad, regular size sandwich, and a yogurt, let alone an ice pack in it. The material is nice for placing in a backpack but this, in my opinion, greatly affects how well it keeps the food cool. My icepack had sufficiently melted to ~ slightly cool by the time lunchtime rolled around. Most of the lunchboxes sold in stores are either covered in commercial images or really plain insulated bags. My son was disappointed that he couldn't choose a more decorated lunchbox. Finding this "man's" lunchbox online was a really lucky break because he is proud to have something so grown up.It also happens that this is the perfect size to hold a "Laptop Lunch" brand bento box container, plus a thin ice pack like the Fit N Fresh ones or the multi-ice-cube type made by Coleman. School's only been going for a week now, but this is working out perfectly, keeps his food cool until noon, wipes clean each night, and perfectly holds his favorite bento set. I'm very pleased with it. |
